Water and electricity, done by the book.
Dedicated circuits, GFCI protection, bonding, grounding, disconnects, and final connections, with the ESA permit handled. Pool and spa wiring is never a standard outdoor hookup, and we treat it that way.
Pool and spa questions
Does a hot tub need its own circuit?▾
Yes. A dedicated circuit sized to the tub, with GFCI protection and a disconnect within sight of the water.
Is a permit required?▾
Yes, an ESA permit. We take it out and build the inspection into the schedule. Storable pools, hot tubs, and spas got new code rules in the last Ontario Electrical Code update.
What is bonding, and why does my pool need it?▾
Bonding connects the pool's metal parts to ground with copper wire so no part of the structure can sit at a different voltage than the water. It happens early in construction, and it is not optional.
