Troubleshooting and repairs

A breaker that will not reset, a dead outlet, a light that flickers. We find the cause, not the symptom.

What is going wrong

The symptom is where the investigation starts.

A problem may show up at one device while its cause sits somewhere else on the circuit. The first job is to narrow down what changed and what is affected.

A breaker keeps tripping

Note what was running, whether the trip is immediate, and whether the breaker will stay reset.

An outlet went dead

Identify which outlets, lights, or rooms lost power and what happened just before they stopped working.

Lights flicker or dim

Tell us whether it happens at one fixture, across a room, or when another load starts.

Find the cause

Trace the fault before choosing the repair.

Replacing the first device in sight can leave the real problem untouched. We work from the symptoms toward the source, then explain what the repair involves.
  1. Start with the pattern

What changed, when it happens, and which parts of the circuit are affected all help narrow the search.

  2. Test the affected path

The circuit, devices, and connections are checked in a deliberate order instead of by guesswork.

  3. Explain the next step

Once the cause is clear, we can describe the repair and quote work that addresses it.

A breaker keeps tripping? Start with what changed.

Tell us what stopped working, what was running, and whether there is heat, smell, smoke, or sparking. We will tell you the safest next step.
